Dr. Jackie Bruce spent most of her childhood in South Carolina. She attended the University of Georgia, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in animal science and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Florida Veterinary Specialists, in Tampa, FL. Her main interests are zoological and wildlife medicine. Dr. Jackie moved to the Keys with her husband, two dogs, two snakes, and three geckos.
